The Vector Scholars Program was set up during the 2002-2003 school
year to inspire high school students to contribute to their communities
and to explore educational opportunities outside the classroom. In the
spring of 2003, the Program offered up to $36,000 in scholarships in the
four Disciplines below. Recipients of the awards had to be members of Mu Alpha Theta.

The Students Teaching Discipline rewards students for educating other students in their community.

Proponents of Mathematics Discipline
The Proponents of Mathematics Discipline recognizes students
who write about math and math-related subjects in a thorough
and engaging manner accessible to the general public

Mathematics on the Web Discipline
The Mathematics on the Web Discipline identifies
student-designed websites that promote mathematics and math education.

Mathematics in the Community Discipline
The Mathematics in the Community Discipline rewards those
students who most effectively apply mathematics to solve
problems in their own community.
