Mu Alpha Theta High School and Two-Year College Regional Contest
A regional math competition will be held on Dec. 4-5, 2009 at the Community Collge of Philidelphia.
The first 200 students will be accepted and there will be separate prizes for high school and two-year college
students. The first ten high schools to apply will be given up to a $50 rebate of their costs. The first ten two-year
colleges to apply will be given a $50 rebate of their costs by AMATYC!
The competition includes an Individual Written Competition, a Ciphering round, Relays, a Math Bowl,
Entertainment, and an Award's Ceremony. Registration begins at 5:30 on the Friday. Download the packet

Moody's Mega Math Challenge (M Cubed Challenge)
A regional math competition for High school juniors and seniors in
all New England and Mid-Atlantic states, from Maine to Washington, D.C. Schools may enter as many
as two (2) teams comprised of three (3), four (4), or five (5) high school juniors or seniors
from the same school. Teams solve an open-ended, realistic, and challenging modeling problem
focused on real-world issues. Student teams download the Challenge problem from the website
and work to solve the problem on their own, at the place(s) of their choice, and on the day
of the Challenge weekend (Saturday or Sunday) that they selected at the time of registration.
Student teams then upload their solution paper by 9:00 pm that same day.

- Wildcat Mathematics Invitational 2008 - The Mountain View High School Mu Alpha Theta is
hosting a math competition in the MVHS auditorium on Thursday March 13, 2008 from 4:00 – 6:30.
Students will sign up for one of two levels (Level I – currently enrolled in Algebra II
or below, Level II – above Algebra II). The registration fee per school is $50. Make checks
